2006 Dare to Dream Attendant Services
Message
from the President :
Conceptualized in 2005, Dare to Dream Attendant Services strives to keep
people with disabilities and seniors comfortable in their homes. So often
in today's world, we isolate the elderly and disabled by putting people
into facilities, where they are often prevented from a life of choice and
stripped of dignities. Every human being deserves the right live by their
own choices and if need be, let the persons care be done by a personal assistant
or a registered nurse. As the owner of Dare to Dream Attendant Services
and a person with a disability myself, I know what it is like having to
depend on people and trust people coming into my home and seeing the very
intimate details of my life. I feel, as the president of this company, it
is my highest regard to expect nothing less than the best from my staff.
Dare
to Dream Attendant Services believes in safety first. Our company is fully
insured and our staff consists of personal care assistants and registered
nurses. We fingerprint and do reference checks through the Department of
Justice. Our staff also undergoes a rigorous interview process, conducted
by people with disabilities who have real needs and understand homecare
because they live with care staff everyday.
Safety
and Security in your Home
Here
at Dare to Dream Attendant Services, we believe that each individual has
the right to live a dignified life with their own identity, regardless of
impairments related to daily living. Most of our focus is on quality of
life and consumer choice. People who work for Dare to Dream Attendant Services
understand that everyone has their own lifestyle and choice of care.
Ability
- We believe that everyone has the ability to live their own lives and make
their own decisions. Our providers help facilitate the abilities of the
individual. The disability is put aside when there is above average care
that can be provided on a personal or non-personal care level.
Community
- is a place for everyone. People with disabilities and seniors deserve
the right to live at home with quality care, consumer choice and maximum
independence. Due to my own disability, I use a wheelchair, and have started
this business to make sure that people with disabilities and seniors alike,
get to participate in the universal dream of a life of as much freedom and
independence as possible.
Nursing
Care:
A client will often request nursing care for in home medical treatment,
monitoring, safety, and recovery of acutely or chronically ill or injured
people, the health maintenance of healthy individuals, and the on-going
treatment and assessment of life-threatening medical emergencies in a wide
range of health care settings.
Personal
Care:
A client will often ask for personal care when non-invasive care is needed.
This may include a wide range of activities including dressing, bathing,
grooming, feeding, transfers, repositioning, companionship, assistance with
toileting, mobility assistance, running errands, and laundry.
Knowing
the difference
Nursing care vs. Personal Care
Empowerment
- To be empowered means, to someone with a disability, the right to be able
to live life the same way everyone does. We empower people with disabilities
and seniors by giving them choices in everything they do. Everyone deserves
to feel good about their mind, body, and spirit. Our caregivers understand
this and do their job well the first time. Dare to Dream Attendant
Services hopes to empower more and more seniors and people with disabilities.
Respect
- Our providers understand that everyone has different needs and different
capabilities. We respect the right of the individual to be involved in the
process of care. We also respect the array of different cultures that exist
in our world. The people who Dare to Dream Attendant Services employs are
people who we demand respect and integrity from, from the time they walk
in the door. There is a strict application and fingerprinting process from
the Department of Justice. I, myself, if you haven't already figured it
out from the front cover, require assistance 24 hours a day and 7 days a
week, so I understand the real meaning of respect from many different levels.
Part of respect means having to be on-time; to be a hard worker, but most
importantly, love what you do and who you work with.
